    Camarillo | Suspect allegedly caught in the act – Residential Burglary

    On January 25th, 2021, at about 7:00p.m., deputies from the Camarillo Police Department arrested a suspect during the commission of a residential burglary in Camarillo.

    The suspect forced entry into a residence in the 1200 block of Avenida de Aprisa. The residents were not home at the time of the burglary. However, the house was outfitted with a security camera system. The homeowner watched the suspect committing the burglary through their security camera system. The victim called Sheriff’s Dispatch to report the crime and gave real-time updates. Camarillo patrol deputies quickly responded to the scene and set up a perimeter. Once on-scene, they located and arrested the suspect who was in possession of property stolen from the residence.

    The suspect was identified as Jose Montoya. He was booked at the Main Jail in Ventura for PC 459 – Burglary. Montoya’s bail was set at $160,000 and he is currently in custody awaiting his next court date scheduled for 2/5/21.
