    Camarillo | Suspects Arrested for Felony Evading, Felony Warrant, Resisting Arrest and Accessory

    On April 22, 2020, shortly after midnight a patrol deputy from the Headquarters Station, observed a white Nissan Altima make several unsafe moving violations. The vehicle accelerated onto the southbound 101 freeway. Once on the freeway, the Altima exceeded speeds of 120 mph. The patrol deputy activated his lights and sirens in an attempt to conduct a traffic stop. The Altima failed to yield and a pursuit was initiated. The Altima nearly caused several traffic collisions as it fled from pursuing deputies. The Altima exited the freeway and quickly drove into a nearby neighborhood. The suspects in the vehicle parked in a driveway and fled on foot. The suspects were identified as a male subject and two females. All 3 managed to elude authorities that morning.

    Deputies were able to identify the driver of the vehicle as a 17-year-old gang member from the city of Oxnard. Through the course of the investigation detectives learned the 17-year-old was a runaway from a group home and had an outstanding felony warrant for his arrest. On May 7, 2020, detectives with the Sheriff’s Gang Unit and Camarillo Special Enforcement Unit learned the 17-year-old male suspect was residing on Raemere Street in the city of Camarillo. Detectives conducted a probation search at the residence. Once inside, Detectives were told by Alvaro Magallon and Juan Sanchez that the juvenile was not in the house and were hindering the investigation. After several minutes, detectives located the juvenile suspect hiding in a closet and refused to exit. The suspect was eventually taken into custody. While detectives were walking the juvenile out of the residence, the sister of the suspect Cecilia Magallon spat on the deputies.

    Deputies arrested the 17-year-old juvenile for VC 2800.2, felony warrant and PC 148(a)(1). Cecilia Magallon was arrested for PC 69 and PC 32. Alvaro Magallon and Juan Sanchez were each arrested for PC 32. The juvenile remains in-custody. Cecilia was released on bail. Alvaro and Juan were released per the $0 bail policy.

    On May 11, 2020, the Ventura County District Attorney’s Office filed felony evading and misdemeanor resisting arrest charges on the 17 year old juvenile.
