From Rafael Dagnesses, Republican for the 26th Congressional District:

Rafael Dagnesses

CANDIDATE FOR REPRESENTATIVE IN CONGRESS

 26TH CONGRESSIONAL DISTRICT

Name: Rafael Alberto Dagnesses      Age: 48

Occupation: Business Owner/U.S. Marine Gunnery Sgt./Law Enforcement Officer

Recipient of over 50 Commendations, from Acts of Bravery, to letters of appreciation from citizens.

Our nation needs proven business leaders, NOT career politicians, who will bring real world experience to Washington. I’m not a career politician.

I’m a lifelong entrepreneur, Marine Corps Veteran, former L.A.P.D. officer.  I was born in communist Cuba and raised in the inner city of L.A. I witnessed how government dependency cultivated poverty, drug abuse and crime.

I’m running for Congress because I love this country. I’ll use common sense to rein in deficit spending, protect seniors and support our military and veterans. I’ll fight for lower taxes and promote policies that will grow our economy and create jobs.

None of my opponents can say they have created jobs.  None of my opponents have engaged, struggled and fought the bureaucracies of local, state and federal government.  I have!   I’ve had both failures and successes.  Today my company has averaged over $175 million in yearly sales.  This was accomplished through over 15 years of dedicated hard work and a passion for success, which has allowed me to be an active philanthropist for Veteran Causes, Children’s Cancer, Make a Wish and numerous other

As a successful business owner, I’ve gone broke twice. Most politicians don’t understand what it feels like to go broke. I recovered each time and paid my debts without declaring bankruptcy. Why can’t Washington do the

Our tax code is 74,000 pages long. Let’s make it simple, understandable and let’s lower taxes for everyone and streamline regulations for business. This will generate more revenue and pay down our debt. This common sense policy will create good paying jobs, which will rebuild our local tax revenues and improve public safety, infrastructure and education.

I’ll fight to repeal Obamacare. I’ll work for affordable consumer-based health care solutions.

Peace through strength and a coherent energy policy should be a critical component of our National Security strategy.

All of my opponents are Pro Amnesty.  As an immigrant who grew up in the inner city I know firsthand the error Amnesty would be for our country. My Republican opponent voted for illegal’s to be eligible for their California Driver’s license and allow them to practice law in California.  This state is sending the wrong message and its spearheading the transformation of this great nation.

Do we really want Sacramento Politicians in Washington?  For the first time in decades we have an opportunity to tell establishment of both parties enough is enough and send a Real Republican to Washington who will passionately represent you and who will not be beholden to the establishment and will represent our district with the guidance of the United States Constitution.

I signed a notarized affidavit declaring,,if elected, I will not serve more than 8 years.

No one will work harder while representing our district.  I humbly ask for your vote and your support.

Not since 1994 has the need been ever so great for a US Representative like Rafael Dagnesses. Things have come to a very dire state in Washington. We need a new problem-solving outlook there; revitalizing our government starts in the US House of Representatives, the ‘people’s house’ as it is known. The energy and drive Rafael has put into his business ventures, his views on up with oil and down with taxes are just Washington needs at this time. His ideas on national security and charter schools will light beacons of hope, and restore pride in the American Dream.
Having worked for conservatives in the 1994 election helps me recall what happened when Congressional candidates offered us the Contract with America that year; we elected a crack team of a majority of energized people, and that effort worked. Congress enacted legislation that said things like: government should follow the same rules USA citizens do, having open committee meetings and other common sense ideas is the way to be a representational republic. We elect people to go to Washington D.C. in our stead so that we can get down to business. With Rafael as a member of the 1995 US House of Representatives we will be assured our needs and wants will be considered, rationally debated and with divine guidance passed into common sense laws.
See http://www.nationalcenter.org/ContractwithAmerica.html for details on that powerful tool for changing government.
