try times;”>A simple Google search on the words ‘Ginger Gherardi Ventura’ yields about 1, healing 470,000 results. Click on any of the results and you will find a person immersed into large, complex projects with multi-million dollar budgets comprised of public funds involving multiple constituencies and stakeholders.

She has crafted budgets, written grant proposals, negotiated contracts, analyzed legislation and won awards including the 2009 Santa Paula, Citizen of the Year,
2007 Caltrans Lifetime Achievement Award and the 2002 Santa Paula Woman of Distinction

Her opinions and skills are valued and followed having served as Executive Director of VCTC (Ventura County Transportation Commission) for 18 years. As a transportation specialist, she created the VISTA bus system. Her knowledge of budgets and law acquired over these years as a public servant is exactly what Santa Paula now needs on its city council. She will not be a pawn of Wall Street.

In the recent candidate forum, she was the only candidate out of the six who was able to correct the moderator’s question about the amount of bonds Santa Paula issued in 2010 as $55 million and not the $35 million in the question. She had done her homework.

She will continue to apply her professional skills in the challenging times ahead of Santa Paula. We need new leadership in Santa Paula to deal with the problems created by the existing council such as the badly financed sewer plant and obfuscated finances.

I look forward to voting for Ginger Gherardi in the November 4th election.
