Casa Pacifica’s Wine Food & Brew Festival 2017 – Great Fun for a Great Cause
By Raven West
The angels were certainly smiling down on the Casa Pacifica staff and volunteers of the 24th Annual Casa Pacifica Angels Wine Food & Brew Festival 2017!
What started out as a cold, drizzly morning, turned into blue skies and sunshine just as the very first VIP guest walked through the gate. They were greeted by Casa Pacifica volunteers Lori Silvey and Christina with glasses filled with champagne and blueberries, topped off with a huge home-grown Oxnard strawberry.

The record breaking sold-out crowd of more than 5,000 was treated to 75 of Ventura County’s most delicious culinary delicacies paired with a selection of fine wine from wineries who came from as far away as Napa and Sonomoa Valley and beer from local micro-breweries.

VIP guests danced to the music of Instone while enjoying special desserts created by Jana Richardson and Vanessa, owners of “Delicious Artistry”. J’s Crab Bisque served in a sour dough bowl by Chef Jason of Plated Events was a festival favorite.
On the main stage, DJ Bruce Barrios announced the “Yummie” awards presented for best Sweet, best Savory and best Brew of the day. Wes Quave Live continued the celebration throughout the rest of the day.
It was not only an afternoon of fun, food, wine and beer. The Casa Pacifica Angels Wine Food & Brew Festival annual is the largest fundraiser for Casa Pacifica, a nonprofit organization that provides a variety of services to children and adolescents from around central and southern California including residential treatment.

A Casa Pacifica spokesperson said support from the thousands who attended the event will go toward the organization’s Building New Foundations of Hope capital campaign goal of rising $1.6M to build a new residential substance abuse treatment facility in the Ventura County and Santa Barbara County that will be focused specifically on youth struggling with substance abuse.
