Center for Nonprofit Leadership Announces Summer Workshops

Thousand Oaks, Calif.—California Lutheran University’s Center for Nonprofit Leadership announces the following upcoming workshops for July. These workshops are designed to provide practical and applicable skills for nonprofit leaders and staff. All workshops will be held at Cal Lutheran’s Thousand Oaks Campus at 60 West Olsen Road, Thousand Oaks.

Introduction to Proposal Writing- Two Module Series—This workshop is perfect for the first-time grant writer or those interested in brushing up on the fundamentals, this two-part introductory workshop provides an overview of the art of proposal writing.To be held Wednesday, Jul. 11 & 18 from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m., lunch included. Cost for organizational members: free, individual members: $75, non-members: $90.

Revisiting & Revising Your Bylaws—Join us for this engaging discussion with Roy Schneider, Esq., who will address bylaw basics, required provisions, and then explore suggested revisions that can streamline your governance practices. To be held Friday, Jul. 13 from 10 a.m. – noon. Cost for organizational members: free, individual members: $25,  non-members: $35.

Individual Prospect Research—In this workshop you will learn how to locate new donor prospects, how to increase funding from current donors, how to read a 990, and which of your current donors make the best planned giving prospects. To be heldWednesday, Jul. 25 from 9 a.m. – noon.  Cost for organizational members: free, individual members: $45,  non-members: $55.
