Charlie Kirk: “Those who believe in truth have been on the defense”

By Michael Hernandez

NEWBURY PARK—”Those who believe in truth have been on the defense,” said Charlie Kirk at the Godspeak Flag Day Sunday church service. “Not enough people have been contesting in the public arena.  We need to engage in the public square very clearly and respectfully on what truth is? We need to fight and contest.

“I’ve been told by the media that as a white male, I must sit down and shut up. But I am speaking louder than ever before.”

“In Christianity, we know that we are made in the image of God. We all are in need of redemption. As a singular unit we need salvation. Your bloodline can’t save you. The sovereignty of the individual must be recognized and understood. We are not judged by what happened many generations ago. Western society is built against the idea that as certain individuals (based on skin color) we atone for something we did not do.

“We are made in the image of God in Christianity but Black Lives Matters only sees through tribal lenses.” This has led to the formation of a “new country the 156th country in the world:  CHAZ (Capitol Hill Autonomous Zone) in six blocks of downtown Seattle. In this sovereign country you need to have an ID, walls (borders) have been built.”

According to Charlie Kirk, president and founder of Turning Point USA—a national student movement dedicated to promoting principles of free markets and limited government, we can learn from the events happening in America today:

  1. The promise of utopia is a death sentence for a country.

“People promoting utopia are trying to create a heaven on earth, but it is more similar to a hell on earth. We can’t create heaven on earth.”

  1. Mobilizing resentment guarantees conflict.

“Mobilizing resentment is guaranteed to end poorly. An oppression Olympics is being created. We are liberated through Christ.”

  1. Grouping people on immutable characteristics is a gateway to disaster.

“What can we not change? Skin Color. We are a people of only one race—the human race but if you say this at the University of California this is hate speech. We are made new through the blood of Jesus Christ. He liberated us from sin.”

“Truth seekers are being ridiculed, attacked and silenced. There are people in this country who wish to sow disharmony. If we are a systemic racist country why do one million immigrants (half of the world’s immigrants) want to come here each year? If we are so awful, why do they come here? Why are 130 languages spoken in our country?

“We have the 10 Commandments but “The Rules for Radicals” (1971) by Saul Alinsky which was dedicated to Lucifer (the first fallen angel who rebelled against God) and was followed by Hillary Clinton and President Barack Obama outline the American left. Some of these rules include:

  • Power is not what you have but what the enemy thinks you have.
  • Never go outside the expertise of your own people.
  • Wherever possible go outside the expertise of your enemy.
  • Make your enemy live up to its own books of rules.
  • Ridicule is man’s most potent weapon.
  • Keep the pressure on.
  • Threat is more terrifying than the thing itself.
  • Pick the target, freeze it, personalize, polarize it.

“We are civic minded and we are anti-outrage and anti-boycotts. We are building and flourishing.  (But the radical left) are into destroying.

“Look at the Black Lives Matter website and what they are about. They seek to:

  • Disrupt the nuclear family.
  • Disrupt prisons.
  • Abolish police.

“We need to surrender to Christ. We need to surrender to the truth. We need to tell the truth, live the truth, and fight for the truth. We need to stand firm for truth and not give an inch. If we give an inch, they will take a mile. The Church is the new battleground—the fireguard of liberty and freedom.

“We Christians have abducted our responsibility in the education of our children. Colleges (where atheists teach) have made students resentful of their country and have sowed seeds of doubt about God; but I also see a rising generation of thousands of freedom fighters ready and willing to go into the frontlines.

During question and answer time, Charlie Kirk addressed questions on:

  • Big Tech companies: “They are more powerful than the federal government and have contributed to the political campaigns of politicians from both parties…We need to break them up or have government regulations.”
  • What is the Good News? “One single truth can end four years of lies.”
  • What is your take on tearing down statues? “I stand against the removal of every single one of them. Why are you removing them? Before we attack our southern states, we need to realize they have sent more citizens to fight for freedoms than any other states.”
  • How do you deal with family and friends? “I never seek conflict or to be offensive. I never try to provoke. But if I say something that is true and you are provoked, that is not my problem.”
  • How can I engage? “Subscribe to my podcast. Get involved in school board and city council races.  Know and pray for your community representatives.”

“Do not believe the propaganda taught by the media and other sources. It is a lie. Gideon’s Army in the Bible shows unmistakably that we have a victorious God. We need to accept and understand the truth, fight and contend for the truth, and pay the price for the truth.”
