Chavez announces for CA 44th Assembly District

OXNARD, CA – As a candidate for Oxnard City Council over the last two years, I have worked tirelessly to bring to light the challenges that so many of our residents face. I’ve spoken out against waste and wrongdoing, held our leaders accountable, advocated for working families and the homeless, and demanded answers to our challenges. I will always be an advocate for our community, but after much careful consideration, I am temporarily suspending my campaign for Oxnard City Council.

Today, I announce my bid for the California Assembly District 44. I feel that I can represent the interests of the city of Oxnard and the surrounding communities better than they are currently being served in Sacramento. I want my children (we are currently expecting our second child) and fellow residents to live in a community that is safe and healthy, and provides opportunities and a sustainable quality of life. I look forward to meeting all the great people of District 44 and gaining their confidence.

I truly appreciate the support and confidence that so many individuals have placed in me, and I believe I have become a knowledgeable and engaged candidate. I welcome people to contact me at [email protected], visit my website at, and follow my campaign on Facebook and Twitter (@chavezfor44)

Note: Daniel Chavez, Jr. is a lifelong Oxnard resident, a former 2016 Oxnard City Council candidate and currently works for L.A.C.M.T.A. He lives in South Oxnard with his wife and their daughter.
