VENTURA, California – Continuing our focus on Domestic Violence Awareness Month, we alert the public to the following issue.
Intimate partner violence not only affects adults, but also any children who are exposed to violence. Studies show children who have witnessed domestic violence have trauma similar to that of a soldier who has witnessed war. Home is not always a safe place, but it’s never too late to reach out for help. Visit the Ventura County Family Justice Center at https://vcfjc.org/services/ or, Monday through Friday, call (805) 652-7655, text (805) 947-7981, or email [email protected] or contact the National Domestic Violence Hotline at 800-799-SAFE (7233), at https://www.thehotline.org on the web.
The Ventura County District Attorney’s Office is the public prosecutor for the county’s 850,000 residents.
