San Bernaridno Congressman Pete Aguilar joined with more than a dozen congress members in order to tour border facilities in Clint and El Paso TX. Congress Member Alexandria Ocasio Cortez led the Democrat members of the House of Representatives.
The group has been on a media tour disseminating negative reports about their experiences.
“This group of open border Democrats have been spreading lies about our brave border patrol agents,” Robin Hvidston, Executive Director for We The People Rising and CA State Coordinator for The Remembrance Project, said. “For example, Congressman Pete Aguilar appeared before news sources and also tweeted that women are forced to drink from toilets and that the border facilities in Texas were ‘heartbreaking’ and ‘abhorrent.’ Because the Democrat held congress will not move legislation forward to close the loopholes in the Flores Settlement, the crisis continues at the border. At this point, it is a Democrat manufactured crisis.”
Constituents and members of We The People Rising will hand deliver a letter of censure to the district office of Congressman Pete Aguilar, calling for him to apologize to the U.S. Border Patrol Agents.
Of note, a group of Hispanic pastors visited the same facilities that Congressman Pete Aguilar is lambasting, and these pastors claimed “the camps are both humane and well-run by federal officials.” These reports will also be presented to Congressman Pete Aguilar’s staff during the drop-in visit. https://tinyurl.com/y3bs2jrv
In addition, constituents plan to appeal to the congressman to focus on American citizens.
“Why doesn’t this group visit and attend to the suffering Americans in our nation?” Hvidston asked. “We have more than 610,000 homeless Americans, more than 400,000 U.S. kids in foster care and millions of disabled Americans and veterans. Pete Aguilar and members of congress should be helping our suffering American citizen population rather than those in our country illegally. Our members of congress should be supporting federal laws and law enforcement in order to keep this nation safe.”
After the letter to Congressman Pete Aguilar is presented to his staff, they will seek to meet with the district director as constituents are calling for the congressman to resign.
