The Ventura County Fire Department is offering it’s new hybrid CERT program which trains citizens in basic disaster preparedness and response skills to assist those in need during an emergency. The hybrid course is completed in two phases: online learning and practical in-person training. It is offered, at no cost, to all residents.
If you are new to CERT, we are excited to welcome you!
The 12 hours of online learning can be completed at your convenience, followed by 16 hours of practical skills training. Prior to practical skills training, participants will receive a CERT backpack with personal protective equipment such as, helmet, vest, goggles, gloves and flashlight.
For returning CERT grads, if you’d like a refresher course, you may review all or any of the course units. Updating your Certificate of Completion allows you to participate in the practical skills training (in-person) with VCFD CERT instructors.Â
