City of Simi Valley Office of Emergency Services is Recruiting Volunteers

The City of Simi Valley Office of Emergency Services is actively seeking highly motivated and disciplined men and women that reside in Simi Valley and have a strong desire to volunteer and be affiliated with a local disaster response team. Volunteer Disaster Service Worker (DSW) Team members play an integral part in serving the City and the community by insuring that we are ready for the next emergency or disaster and by supporting emergency response efforts when called upon. 

On Tuesday, September 18, 2018 there will be a Volunteer DSW Team recruitment information meeting at 7:00pm in the City’s Emergency Operations Center located at 3901 Alamo Street, Simi Valley. 

To qualify, prospective volunteers must be at least 18 years of age, a citizen of the United States, a resident of Simi Valley, and must pass an extensive background investigation. Candidates must have the ability to be on-call 24/7, attend training and volunteer a minimum of 3-12 hours each month. Prospective volunteers must also complete the Community Emergency Response Training (CERT) Academy prior to appointment on the Volunteer DSW Team.
