RUN – HIDE – FIGHT is explained

Volunteers use radio equipment to ensure communications continue in an emergency when all other communications fail. ACS conducts radio check-ins every Tuesday night and frequent emergency drills. These drills are used to pass digital and voice communications ensuring that all equipment is operational.

Every year amateur radio operators practice emergency communications through a Field Day event. This year, the Field Day is set for June 23rd and 24th. In Thousand Oaks the Conejo Valley Amateur Radio Club will set up tents and operate locally. To learn more, visit www.CVARC.org.
