City of Ventura to host Housing Forum for Montalvo residents on Wednesday, April 19

    News Release

Ventura, Calif. – The Housing Services Division of the City of Ventura will be hosting its next housing forum on Wednesday, April 19, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Montalvo Elementary School, located at 250 Grand Avenue, Ventura, CA 93003. The event will provide participants with light refreshments.

The forum will cover a wide range of topics, including landlord and tenant rights, fair housing, housing choice vouchers, paths to homeownership, and a panel discussion. As housing costs continue to rise in the community, it is essential for individuals and families to be aware of the resources available to them.

Presenters at the event will include the Housing Rights Center, Ventura County Community Development Corporation (VCCDC), Housing Authority of the City of Ventura, and Central Coast Alliance United for a Sustainable Economy (CAUSE). The Housing Rights Center and the Housing Authority of San Buenaventura will provide information about Housing Choice Vouchers.

The VCCDC will discuss paths to homeownership and down-payment assistance programs for first-time homebuyers. The City’s Housing Services Division will also provide information about the programs and objectives outlined in the City’s Housing Element, a plan that will be submitted to the California Department of Housing and Community Development.

“We are excited to bring our next forum to our Montalvo neighborhood and provide essential information about housing resources and affordable programs,” said Housing Service Manager, Leona Rollins. “It is essential that individuals and families are aware of the available resources and know their rights as renters and homeowners.”
