Community Workshop for Reuse of Former Courthouse Property

    0

On January 29, the City of Camarillo will host the first of the community workshops to seek public input for the redevelopment of the former courthouse property, located at 2220 Ventura Blvd. The property is a 1.1-acre site in Old Town.

The City will also consider potential uses for the playground and field areas of the former school, located adjacent to the old courthouse.  The reuse of the former school site is a joint project with the Pleasant Valley School District (PVSD), which owns the property.  The former school buildings are occupied by Studio Channel Islands Art Center.

As noted, the first community workshop will be held on Tuesday, January 29, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., at the Camarillo Library (4101 Las Posas Road).  Refreshments will be provided. The public will continue to have the opportunity to provide input at a second community workshop, which is anticipated to be held in March.  The second workshop will focus on alternatives and images discussed at the initial workshop.

Upcoming meeting dates, and additional information will be available on the City’s website: www.cityofcamarillo.org/communitydevelopment
