    County of Ventura COVID-19 Update 6/29/20

    Good Afternoon, Here is your COVID-19 update from the County of Ventura. The information covers data reported Friday (6/26), Saturday (6/27) and Sunday (6/28). 175 of the cases have a lab collection date from June 22 or earlier. 4,418 labs are over many different days.

    • 404 new cases
    • 4,418 new people tested
    • 2,740 total cases
    • 1,654 recovered cases
    • 256 ever hospitalized
    • 70 current hospitalizations
    • 83 ever in the ICU
    • 27 current in the ICU
    • 1,041 active cases under quarantine
    • 45 deaths (2 additional deaths: male, 50s, male, 90s, both with comorbidities. One previous death was being counted in LA County so is no longer counted in Ventura County therefore the number is at 45.)
    • 58,845 total people tested (4.7% (2,470) of the 58,845 people tested have been positive)

    The Ventura County Public Health Department recommends the following measures to prevent exposure to COVID-19:

    • Stay home when possible.
    • Do not gather. Gatherings are still prohibited in the State. You may only gather with members of your household.
    • Remain six feet away from others and wear a facial covering when engaging in tasks away from home.
    • Wash your hands with soap and water regularly.
    • Avoid touching your eyes, nose, or mouth.
    • Stay home when you are sick. Do not go to work or other places.

    Ventura County Pandemic Rental Assistance Program may provide temporary rental assistance for Ventura County residents with very low incomes who owe past-due rent because of a hardship due to COVID-19. Online applications will be accepted until July 1, 2020. Learn more at www.vcemergency.com/rent.

    Ventura County Business Assistance Grant Program applications launched today for the program. Applications are available until July 8, 2020. The program includes grants of $5,000 for small businesses to alleviate impacts from COVID-19. Learn more at  www.vcreopens.com.
