    County of Ventura – COVID-19 Update

    Since Monday, there have been 4,975 new COVID-19 cases reported and 19,054 new tests completed. There are 302 people hospitalized and 46 in the ICU. There have been 8 additional deaths of a 60 year old female, 69 year old male, 84 year old male, 84 year old male, 90 year old male, 94 year old female, 94 year old female, and a 98 year old male. We extend our sincere condolences to the family and loved ones of the community members who passed away. The R-effectivefor Ventura County is 0.58 which indicates that the spread of COVID is likely decreasing.
    Cases included in our COVID updates are from tests that may have been taken before the last update. The tests are processed and then reported to Public Health which usually takes a few days or weeks.
    Vaccination at Ventura County Public Health Clinics:
    • Ventura County Public Health is offering residents who get a first or second dose of Pfizer or Moderna one $25 gift card. Available to community members ages 5 and older. *Available at Public Health Clinics and Public Health COVID-19 Mobile Vaccination Clinics while supplies last.
    • Due to high demand for COVID-19 vaccines, vaccination at the North Oxnard and South Oxnard Public Health Clinics will be by appointment only. There will be limited walk-ins available until 2 pm throughout this week. There are over 200 locations offering vaccines. Visit www.vaccines.gov to find a location near you.
    COVID-19 Therapeutics: Read the latest from the California Department of Public Health on COVID-19 therapeutics.
    Updated Cal/OSHA Emergency Temporary Standards:The California Division of Occupational Safety and Health’s (Cal/OSHA) COVID-19 Prevention Emergency Temporary Standards are still in effect. The workplace standards were updated in December 2021 to include minor revisions related to returning to work after close contact. The revisions are effective starting on January 14, 2022.     81.8% of community members (ages 5+) have received one or more COVID vaccine doses.
    74.3% of eligible community members have been fully vaccinated.
    79.6% of community members 12+ have been fully vaccinated.

    New county testing sites: The County has opened two no cost drive thru COVID-19 PCR testing sites. Open Tuesday – Sunday 10 am – 7 pm.

    • Moorpark College, 7075 Campus Road, Moorpark, CA 93021
    Appointments are requested for testing. Residents can make an appointment at vc.fulgentgenetics.com. Many appointments are available.
