    County of Ventura COVID-19 Update – August 28, 2020

    COVID-19 Update
    .
    There are 70 new cases today (12 (17.1%) of which have a lab collection from August 21st or earlier), 1,622 additional people tested, and 5 additional deaths (67 year old male, 68 year old male, 70 year old male, 88 year old female and 95 year old male, all with comorbidities). Current doubling time is 83.7 days.
    .
    Please continue to wear masks, social distance and only gather with the people that live in your home. These are important steps to save lives and slow the spread of COVID-19.

    Today, the State of California created a new blueprint for reducing COVID-19 and updated its monitoring metrics for counties on the watch list, creating a tiered system.
    .
    Ventura County is currently classified in the purple tier, which designates wide-spread transmission. However, beginning Monday, August 31, salons, barbershops and malls are able to reopen for indoor services. These sectors must follow the state issued guidance and if they have not previously registered to reopen they must do so at www.vcreopens.com.

    Purple: Highest-risk tier
    Positivity rate 8%+ and case rate of 7 new cases per 100,000
    Red: Second highest-risk tier
    Positivity rate 5-7.9% and case rate of 4-6.9 new cases per 100,000
    Orange: Third highest-risk tier
    Positivity rate 2-4.9% and case rate of 1-3.9 new cases per 100,000
    Yellow: Lowest risk tier
    Positivity rate less than 2% and case rate of less than 1 new case per 100,000

    Weekday Drive-Through Sites – Monday through Friday 10 am to 7 pm
    Moopark College, 7075 Campus Road, Moorpark
    Ford Dealership, 128 S. Hallock Drive, Santa Paula

    Weekend: Oxnard College, 4000 S. Rose Ave., Oxnard. The site is open Friday, Saturday, Sunday, Monday and Tuesday.

    Walk-In Site – Monday Through Friday 9 am to 6 pm
    Ventura County Fairgrounds,10 W. Harbor Blvd in Ventura, Enter Gate 2.

    Pop Up Testing: In addition to the regular testing locations there will be pop-up testing sites offered in the coming weeks. Learn more about the locations and times in the image below.

    Voting Information
    .
    Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, every voter will receive a Vote-by-Mail ballot for the November 3 Presidential General Election. Your ballot will be mailed to you on October 5 to promote safe voting at home. You do not need to request a Vote-by-Mail ballot.
    .
    Voters will not be assigned to a specific polling location. There will be 47 in-Person Voting Locations available throughout Ventura County open Saturday, October 31 through Election Day, November 3, for in person Voting Services and 33 secure ballot drop boxes open beginning October 6.
