Criminal Complaint Filed Against Leroy Chad Tracy for Kidnapping

VENTURA, California –District Attorney Gregory D. Totten announced today that on April 19, 2019, a felony complaint was filed against Leroy Chad Tracy (DOB 6/3/80), of Santa Paula.  The complaint alleges that on May 20, 2013, Tracy kidnapped victim Jane Doe at knifepoint while she was jogging in Santa Paula.  Tracy is charged with the rape and sexual assault of victim Jane Doe in an orchard.  The complaint further alleges that Tracy engaged in witness intimidation by threat of force.

The charges are based upon an investigation conducted by the Ventura County Sheriff’s Department.  Tracy was arrested on April 17, 2019, and is being held on $1,000,000 bail.  Tracy appeared in court on April 19, 2019, and pled not guilty to all charges.  The case is set for early disposition conference on April 30, 2019, at 1:30 p.m., Ventura County Superior Court, courtroom 12.
