Los Angeles, November 6, 2020 – Michele Hanisee, President of the Association of Deputy District Attorneys (ADDA), issued the following statement regarding the election of George Gascón as the 43rd District Attorney in Los Angeles County.
Los Angeles County has elected a new District Attorney. Our Association and its members are committed to ensuring a seamless transition from this administration to the next.
We are also committed to ensuring that every single Deputy District Attorney, whether they are members of our Association or not, enjoys the robust civil service protections to which they are entitled and the rights and benefits for which we have bargained.
Finally, and most importantly, we remain devoted to carrying out our office’s nonpartisan and apolitical public mission: to protect our communities through the fair and ethical pursuit of justice and to safeguard the rights of crime victims.
The Association of Deputy District Attorneys (ADDA) is the collective bargaining agent and represents nearly 1,000 Deputy District Attorneys who work for the County of Los Angeles.

I imagine that there will be several hundred LA DDAs looking for work soon. Since Gascon doesn’t believe that anything constitutes a crime any more, he won’t be prosecuting anyone and will spend all of his time doing witchhunts on the police.
My condolences to the hard working attorneys and law enforcement personnel of Los Angeles County on the election of Comrade Gascon.
And to the fools of Los Angeles County who voted for him, you are getting just what you deserve. It’s going to be a bigger “S” hole than ever.
