By George Miller

In a field of 11 candidates, incumbent Claudia Bill de la Pena (19%), Bob Engler (18.78%) and Ed Jones (16.6%) were elected to the Thousand Oaks City Council. Jones is currently City Parks Director and previously held office decades ago.l

Losing out were newcomer Kevin McNamee (11.85%), incumbent Joel Price (11.23%) and Tom Adams (8.70%) (not to be confused with Al Adams).

Trailing way behind were Carrol Holst, Clifford Zone, Don Schmitz, Dan Twedt, William Tomasi, all at low single digits in the totals.

Although not all votes are yet tallied, this is the likely outcome of the top three winners (see vote tallies).

So, we keep Bill de la Pena, and toss out Price? Wishing us lots of luck with getting rid of the homeless encampments and resolving the homeless issue with this group. We’re going to need it.

    1) They voted for a current council member that is responsible for open space that results in inadequate housing.

    2) They voted in favor of an old has been.

    3) The only one that might be adequate would be Engler.

It ain’t the Thousand Oaks I remember.

The City of Thousand Oaks lost one of it’s strongest leaders, Joel Price, was not re-elected. With his strong law enforcement background as well as his conservative values – his stewardship of Thousand Oaks will be sorely missed.

Part of the gang that didn’t stand up to sanctuary cities; not quite the conservative I appreciate.
