Synopsis of Incident
On Friday, December 31, 2021, at 3:01pm, Santa Paula Police officers were dispatched to assist Ventura County Fire Department with a male subject floating in the Santa Paula Creek near the 17000 blk of East Telegraph Road. Ventura County Firefighters entered the water to perform a rescue but found that the subject was already deceased. Detectives from the Santa Paula Police Department and an Investigator from the Ventura County Coroner’s Office responded to the scene to investigate. The coroner could not locate any obvious signs of foul play; however, the investigation is on-going. The subject was identified as a 27-year-old, male Hispanic, transient who is a known to frequent the area of the Watershed. His name is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
