The Harbor & Beach Community Alliance (HBCA) and the Channel Islands Harbor Department are teaming up to spread holiday cheer and help those struggling during this challenging holiday season. We are partnering in the first Holiday Food & Toy Drive on Saturday, December 12, 2020 from 10am to 5pm at Fisherman’s Wharf.
This joint effort demonstrates that organizations which do not always see eye-to-eye on Harbor issues can work together for the benefit of the Oxnard community and County as a whole.
This event is the perfect opportunity for the beach and harbor communities to step up and extend a hand to those in need this holiday season.
The Holiday Food & Toy Drive will benefit of Food Share of Ventura County and the Spark of Love Toy Drive, an annual effort coordinated by local fire departments which provided toys to more than 6,000 children last year.
On the day of the event, donations can be safely dropped off at the Fisherman’s Wharf located on the southwest corner of the intersection of Victoria Avenue and Channel Islands Boulevard in Oxnard.
Masked and gloved volunteers will be there to accept the donations and provide them to Food Share and the Spark of Love Toy Drive the following day.
The drive will include both food and toy donations to double the spirit of the holidays.
We will also be accepting cash and check donations for FOOD SHARE
According to Food Share, the top five most needed food items are:
canned tuna, chicken, and salmon
cereal (non-sugar types)
beans (dry and canned)
rice (in 1lb-2lb bags or mixes
peanut butter
All non-perishable food items are welcome!

About the Holiday Food & Toy Drive
The Harbor Department and HBCA urge you to join us in generously sharing and donating whatever you are able to do. Many families and children across Ventura County have been impacted by fires and the corona virus. We can help make this holiday a bit better for many families and children.
Please put this event on your calendar.
