Castilla won the official endorsement of the Ventura County Democratic Party with 95 percent of the county delegates voting to support her.

“Carla Castilla has a life-long proven record of fighting for working families,” said Shawn Terris, Chair of the Ventura County Democratic Central Committee. “We believe Carla has exactly what is needed to represent the citizens and residents in Ventura County. Carla has outstanding leadership skills combined with command of the issues facing the 3rd District and dedication to resolving those issues. Her years of local, state, and federal service and developing partnerships at all levels to get things done has been invaluable.”

“It is a tremendous honor to have this early support from Ventura County Democrats,” said Castilla. “I have enormous respect for the delegates, grassroots activists, Club members and leaders who make up the heart and soul of Ventura County’s Democratic Party. Their early recognition and confidence in my campaign to represent Ventura County’s hard working families is a big deal for me. I am thrilled to have their support and I look forward to continue working together to expand our campaign’s list of supporters and getting our message out across the 3rd District.”

Carla Castilla currently serves as the District Director for State Senator Hannah-Beth Jackson. She previously worked as a representative to Congresswoman Lois Capps and as an aide in the White House under the Clinton Administration. She is a former member of the Ventura County Workforce Investment Board, and she has a long history of involvement with local non-profit and community groups, especially those that focus on education, civic engagement, and the empowerment of women.

Carla has worked on a wide range of issues such as the recently passed California Clean Energy and Pollution Reduction Act and the California Fair Pay Act.
