Dignity Health and Ventura County Public Health partner to provide COVID-19 vaccinations to Oxnard Farmworkers

Mobile vaccination clinic reaches more than 600 farmworkers on job site in Oxnard

OXNARD, CA – March 5, 2021 – In a collaborative effort to provide the COVID-19 vaccination to Ventura County farmworkers, Dignity Health St. John’s Regional Medical Center, Dignity Health Medical Group, and Ventura County Public Health partnered to vaccinate more than 600 farmworkers.

The mobile clinic at Reiter Affiliated Davis Ranch builds on the efforts of Dignity Health, the Ventura County Public Health, and Ventura County farmers to ensure that all community members have access to vaccinations as they become eligible, especially those working in sectors of the county most heavily impacted by COVID-19.

“Farmworkers are essential to our ongoing food supply and it is critical that we do our part to help them stay healthy,” says Darren Lee, President and CEO, Dignity Health St. John’s Regional Medical Center and St. John’s Pleasant Valley Hospital. “In alignment with our mission to serve our community, we are pleased to partner with Ventura County Public Health to offer the COVID-19 vaccine to this vulnerable population at their place of employment in a way that is both convenient and safe.”

The vaccine clinic at Davis Farms is among the first mobile vaccination sites in Ventura County to vaccinate the County’s extensive agriculture community.
