    Dignity Health St. John’s Healthcare Foundation Welcomes Gail Summers, New Vice President of Philanthropy

    Dignity Health’s St. John’s Healthcare Foundation is pleased to welcome Gail Summers as the new Vice President of Philanthropy. Summers will lead the not for profit’s philanthropic endeavors supporting St. John’s Pleasant Valley Hospital (SJPVH) in Camarillo and St. John’s Regional Medical Center (SJRMC) in Oxnard.

    For the past eight years, Summers held the position of Director of Development at the UCLA Stein Eye Institute in Los Angeles. Through her leadership, she expanded the donor base, established key partnerships and created successful fundraising strategies. Prior to UCLA, Summers was a Senior Global Product Manager for Bausch & Lomb.

    “I am thrilled to join the St. John’s Healthcare Foundation team,” said Gail Summers. “St. John’s Regional Medical Center and St. John’s Pleasant Valley Hospital are valuable assets to this community and I look forward to helping advance the philanthropic priorities that are of vital importance to Ventura County’s health care needs.”

    Summers holds a master’s degree in Business Administration from Pepperdine University and a bachelor’s degree in History from the University of New Orleans.

    “We are excited to welcome Gail to our team,” said Darren Lee, President and CEO of St. John’s Regional Medical Center and St. John’s Pleasant Valley Hospital. “We are confident she will enhance our fundraising efforts and engage donors to support the vital work being done at St.

    John’s Hospitals.”

    St. John’s Healthcare Foundation is a not-for-profit organization established in 1985 to serve Ventura County by providing philanthropic support for building projects, equipment, patient care services and community programs for St. John’s Hospitals. The Foundation staff works closely with the Foundation Board of Directors and hospital leadership to oversee a comprehensive fund development program, which incorporates campaign outreach, special events, private Foundation and Corporate Grants, along with individual giving and planned gifts.
