Documented Gang Member Arrested for Being a Felon in Possession of a Firearm

Oxnard Police Department – Incident Press Release

On February 27, at approximately 9:42 p.m. officers from the Oxnard Special Enforcement Unit (Gang Unit) conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for a suspected traffic violation in the 800 blk. of E. Yucca St.  The driver, identified as Miguel Jimenez, quickly exited the vehicle but was detained by the officers.  The officers immediately recognized Jimenez as a documented criminal street gang member that had been on parole for assault with a deadly weapon.  Jimenez had been recently discharged from parole supervision.  Officers also made contact with the right front passenger, who was identified as Anna Raya.  Officers conducted a records check and learned that Raya was on parole for robbery and that she also had an outstanding felony warrant.

Both subjects were detained and the vehicle was searched pursuant to Raya’s parole terms.  Officers located a loaded handgun in the vehicle.  Raya was arrested for her felony warrant, and Jimenez was arrested for being a felon in possession of a firearm.  Officers searched Jimenez’ person subsequent to his arrest and located substances resembling methamphetamine and fentanyl.
