    Domestic Violence Incident Leads to Gun Arrest in Simi Valley

    Simi Valley Police Department – Incident Press Release

    On April 14, 2021, at approximately 10:51 P.M., Simi Valley Police units were dispatched to the 600 block of High Plains Ln, in Simi Valley, in reference to a domestic violence incident in progress. The victim informed SVPD communications that she was involved in an altercation with her husband and that she had possibly observed him in possession of a firearm.

    Upon arrival Officers contacted the victim and suspect, Adam Leppo, 41 YOA from Simi Valley. Officers learned that Leppo had been involved in a verbal argument with his wife, at which point the Police were called. When Leppo found out that the Police were on the way he entered the master closet and retrieved a bag, which the victim believed contained a handgun. Shortly thereafter, an altercation occurred and the victim was assaulted. Officers later determined that Leppo had possibly hidden the bag in the complex common area brush prior to being contacted by Officers. SVPD K9 Zeus was on scene and was utilized to check the area for the weapon. K9 Zeus quickly located the bag concealed in a bush near the home. The bag contained a loaded 9mm handgun and several loose rounds of ammunition. Leppo was subsequently placed under arrest and booked at Ventura County Jail for domestic violence and felon in possession of a firearm / possession of a loaded firearm.
