Simi Valley Police Department – Incident Press Release
On February 16, 2021, at approximately 8:40 PM, Simi Valley Police units were dispatched to a vehicle that had collided with a house in the 700 block of Ventura Ave. Upon arrival, Officers found a vehicle partially into a residence which had significant damage. Officers confirmed that there were no injuries to any of the residents some of whom had been outside when the collision occurred. The driver of the involved vehicle, identified as Ernesto Guizar Jr., 25 years old from Simi Valley, suffered only minor injuries.
The investigation determined that a 2014 Chevy Camaro driven by Guizar was travelling southbound on Fifth St approaching Ventura Ave and failed to negotiate the eastbound turn causing it to jump the curb and strike the residence. Guizar was evaluated by Officers on scene and ultimately arrested for Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol. Guizar was transported to Simi Valley Hospital and treated for his injuries prior to being booked at Ventura County Jail. Simi Valley Building and Safety responded to the scene and determined that the residence would be yellow tagged, pending repairs.
