Ventura Police Department – Incident Press Release
On April 23rd at 10:13 PM the Ventura Police Command Center received 9-1-1 calls reference a two- vehicle traffic collision on Harbor Blvd at San Jon Rd. The driver of one vehicle suffered major injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene. The driver of the second vehicle had serious injuries, a passenger in the second vehicle had minor injuries, and both were transported to a local hospital for treatment. Their current condition is not known. Officers f rom the Traffic Unit are on scene. Preliminary investigation suggests this was a head-on collision, the cause is not yet known. The identities of the involved parties are being withheld pending family notifications.
Harbor Blvd is closed in both directions, west of San Jon Rd. Traffic f low in the area is expected to be impacted for the next few hours. This is an active investigation. Any witnesses are asked to call the Ventura Police Traffic Unit at 339-4447.
