Drug dealer/gang member taken down in Santa Paula

On 06-11-2014, Wednesday at approximately 9am, the Santa Paula Police Departments Detective Bureau with the assistance of patrol personnel served a search warrant at 244 Warren Avenue, residence of the suspect Johnny Ramirez. The search warrant was obtained due to an on-going investigation regarding a shooting that occurred on May 27th 2014 in the City of Santa Paula. In that incident, Ramirez was later identified as being involved. On June 9th 2014, Santa Paula Police Detectives responded to Ventura County Medical Center where a victim of a non-life threatening gunshot wound was being treated. The victim turned out to be Ramirez, who had not reported the incident to Santa Paula Police and was uncooperative with the investigation. Santa Paula Police Detectives were able to secure a search warrant for Ramirez, his residence and vehicles. As a result of the search, approximately 11 grams of methamphetamine and approximately 2.5 ounces of marijuana were seized from Johnny Ramirez’ bedroom at the residence. Additionally, $1,405.00 was seized as suspected profits from narcotics sales. Ramirez is currently out on bail on drug charges. He is also currently on probation for narcotic violation and is a documented gang member. He was booked at Santa Paula Police and later taken to Ventura County Jail.
