Drunk driver injures five year old girl and 29 year old woman in Ventura

site times; font-size: 16px;”>Just before 7pm Friday night, June, 6th, Ventura Police patrol officers responded to a report of an injury accident in the area of Palm and Poli streets. Once officers arrived on scene, they learned that Alexander Olsen, a 47 year old Ventura resident, was traveling north on Palm St. and failed to stop for the stop sign at Poli St. He continued east on Poli and swerved into oncoming traffic and collided head on into a vehicle traveling west on Poli St.

After the collision, Olsen put his vehicle in reverse and attempted to back down Palm St. While backing down Palm, he collided into a building and another vehicle that was parked on the east side of Palm St.

As a result of the initial traffic collision on Poli, a 29-year-old female and a five-year-old girl sustained internal injuries.

During their investigation, Officers determined Olsen was under the influence of alcohol/drugs while driving. Olsen was later booked into Ventura County Jail for 23153(a)(b) VC – Felony DUI/injury collision.
