eBay cancels ‘offensive’ Dr. Seuss, but Hitler OK

    Michael F. Haverluck |OneNewsNow.com

With the Dr. Seuss Foundation’s caving to the cancel-culture movement and ending publication of six of its classic children’s books, eBay is following suit by prohibiting any sale of these works that it recently labeled as “offensive material” on its digital platform.

    Bowing down to the woke

The foundation recently submitted to woke activists by issuing a public apology and by no longer producing titles that have been loved by children and adults alike for generations.

“These books portray people in ways that are hurtful and wrong,” Dr. Seuss Enterprises announced in a statement, according to The Western Journal. “Ceasing sales of these books is only part of our commitment and our broader plan to ensure Dr. Seuss Enterprises’ catalog represents and supports all communities and families.”

Making little sense and providing no proof that reading Dr. Seuss books turn children into racists – similar to how using the canceled Aunt Jemima pancake syrup or playing with Mr. Potato Head makes one racist or sexist – eBay made its stance on the treasured children’s books clear.

“Dr. Seuss enterprises has stopped publication of this book due to its negative portrayal of some ethnicities, as a courtesy,” eBay notified user Adam Townsend, which he captured in a tweet, according to Townhall. “We have ended your item and refunded your selling fees, and as long as you do not relist the item, there will be no negative impacts to your account.”

It was pointed out by another Twitter user that eBay’s selectivity regarding what it deems as “hurtful” or “offensive materials” makes little sense, as literature from notorious anti-Semites is still given the green light.

“You can’t make this stuff up. @eBay is blocking my listing of @DrSeuss’s The Cat’s Quizzer & citing it as offensive material,” Clare Ath tweeted. “Yet anti-Semite Louis Farrakhan’s books are okay? #cancelcancelculture.”

Nothing has been done by eBay regarding the sale of books such as Mein Kampf – an autobiographical manifesto of the world’s most infamous Jew hater, Adolf Hitler – which explains the Nazi’s “racist, anti-Semitic vision for Germany, laying out a Nazi program pointing directly to World War II and the Holocaust,” according to ListVerse.com.

More than anything, it appears that retailers are only bowing down to eliminating what the radical left woke crowd deems as offensive, while paying no heed to what offends the conservative right, such as books aggressively promoting the LGBTQ lifestyle and abortion, including the 1922 book, The Pivot of Civilization, where Planned Parenthood Founder Margaret Sanger explains her theories of eugenics and racial purity forwarded through abortion.

Not the first time the woke targeted Dr. Seuss

Dr. Suess books have been on the radical left’s radar for years, as One News Now reported earlier, and four years ago, former first Lady Melania Trump fought against the cancel-culture narrative when her gift of Dr. Suess books were rejected by a public school that claimed the literature was “racist.”

“Former first lady Melania Trump fired back at a Massachusetts elementary school librarian in 2017 who claimed the illustrations in Dr. Seuss’s books – usually cartoon animals or fantastical creatures – were examples of ‘racist propaganda,’” Fox News recounted.

One of the largest school districts in Virginia, Loudon County Public Schools, has also been on the attack against Dr. Suess books, recently pulling out of the decades-long celebration, Read Across America Day, which commemorates Dr. Suess’ birthday and the love of reading that his books have inspired.

“Realizing that many schools continue to celebrate ‘Read Across America Day’ in partial recognition of Dr. Seuss’ birthday, it is important for us to be cognizant of research that may challenge our practice in this regard,” the district announced, according to the Daily Wire. “As we become more culturally responsive and racially conscious, all building leaders should know that in recent years there has been research revealing radical undertones in the books written and the illustrations drawn by Dr. Seuss.”

It was found that the major perpetrator behind canceling the district’s annual reading celebration is an activist group that has consistently attacked Judeo Christian values to promote radical left ideologies.

“Learning for Justice, a liberal education advocacy group, was reportedly behind the pressure campaign against the celebrated children’s author,” Fox News reported. “The organization pegs itself as a group that seeks ‘to uphold the mission’ of the left-wing Southern Poverty Law Center, according to their website.”

    Not in my library!

Surprisingly, a public library in one of America’s most woke states, New York, has had enough of canceling culture on its bookshelves, calling out the move to weed out its collection of Dr. Suess books as nothing short of censorship.

“As with all public libraries, the New York Public Library does not censor books,” NYPL spokeswoman Angela Montefinise told The New York Post Thursday. “In this case, the six titles in question are being pulled out of print by Dr. Seuss Enterprises, so the very few copies we have of these titles will continue to circulate until [they] are no longer in acceptable condition.”

We are at a fascinating point in world history.

We’re able to watch the devil at work in real-time, and marvel at all those who enable his antics.

We’re going to have to start talking openly about our opponent, and call out his allies, if we hope to slow his roll.

I strongly believe private companies should be able to use their own standards of morality in the course of operating their business.

We need to make sure bakery owners can apply their own moral standards and refuse to sell their wedding cakes to homosexual couples. Otherwise the libtards have won and we will all be under the thumb of the authoritarian / fascist Dems.

When exactly did Michael and Debra join the libtard crowd? Telling eBay what it should consider offensive or not offensive is a very slippery slope that doesn’t end well for us Patriots.
