El Rio | Gang Member Arrested With Firearm

On October 5, 2018, The Ventura County Sheriff’s Gang Unit was conducting directed enforcement in the unincorporated area of Oxnard known as El Rio. Detectives from the Sheriff’s Gang Unit contacted Gerald Silva, a known El Rio Gang member, who is on active CDCR parole and a male juvenile in the 2700 block of Vineyard Avenue.
During the investigation, detectives located a loaded .22 caliber revolver concealed in the waistband of the male juvenile. In addition to the concealed firearm, the male juvenile was found to be in possession of additional .22 caliber ammunition and drug paraphernalia.
The male juvenile was arrested and booked at the Juvenile Justice Center for unlawful possession of the firearm, drug paraphernalia, and gang related charges. Silva was arrested for violation of his CDCR parole terms and booked at the Pre-Trial Detention Facility.
