WHAT: With tour packages throughout 2016, Bella Guatemala Travel submerges travelers into the authentic and beautiful Maya culture through a variety of celebrations, excursions and adventures. Recognizing Guatemala as a rich cultural destination, Bella Guatemala Travel has invited archaeological expert and expedition travel leader Jose Antonio Gonzalez to share his knowledge of the Kingdom of the Mayas at a free lecture this month.
                       
Jose Antonio will take the audience on a journey through several of Bella Guatemala Travel’s top destinations including Tikal, one of the largest excavated archeological sites found in heart of the jungle; the dramatic Lake Atitlán, famed for its natural beauty and its large indigenous Maya population; and the charming cobblestone streets of Antigua, the most popular destination of Central America.
 
WHO: Jose Antonio Gonzalez is an international explorer, an archaeologist and a notable expedition leader based in Guatemala. Over the course of more than 20 years, he’s explored nearly every corner of the Mayan regions of Mesoamerica including Mexico, Guatemala, Belize and Honduras, as well as the countries of Nicaragua, Panama, Columbia, Peru, Chile and Cuba. He is an expert in Mayan culture and history.
