    WHAT:         
      The Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Oxnard and Port Hueneme hosts the 17th Annual “Great Futures for Kids” campaign breakfast. Keynote speaker Steven Michael Quezada is an award-winning actor and comedian.With a career in the entertainment industry spanning more than 30 years, Quezada has worked alongside some of the biggest names in show business including Joe Pesci, Helen Mirren, Danny Trejo and George Lopez. He had a recurring role in the Emmy Award winning television series Breaking Bad, which was filmed in his hometown of Albuquerque, NM, and for which he earned a Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a drama series. 
      
    The breakfast event is a community rally to help create Great Futures for Kids by supporting Club programs that ensure children grow up to graduate high school and achieve self-sufficiency, along with strong character and leadership. The 2019 campaign goal is to raise $100,000 for providing the quality programs and services to more than 10,400 children and their families throughout the Oxnard Plain.

    The Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Oxnard and Port Hueneme (BGCOP) is a nonprofit 501(c) (3) youth service organization. BGCOP’s mission is “to inspire and enable all youth, especially those who need us most, to realize their full potential, as productive, responsible and caring citizens.” Services are provided in three freestanding clubhouses in Oxnard and Port Hueneme which include a dedicated Teen Center, 12 public school program sites, one club site in Nyeland Acres, one site at a Squires Public Housing, and the first Boys & Girls Club in a juvenile hall in the State of California. The purpose of BGCOP is to provide social, educational and recreational programs to all youth ages 6-18 years old, with an emphasis on those in underserved areas. Annual member dues is $20.00 however, no one is turned away regardless of ability to pay.
