Gypsy, Swing, Tango, Folk, and Wild Classic: CAFÉ MUSIQUE!

THOUSAND OAKS, CA – BrogdenBay Presents and Larry Janss’ Four Friends Gallery presents Café Musique, a live music concert in Thousand Oaks.  The concert is held Saturday, February 9, 2019 at 8:00 pm at the Four Friends Gallery, located at 1414 East Thousand Oaks Blvd. in Thousand Oaks.

Café Musique lives up to its name with a musical pallet that includes gypsy, swing, tango, folk and their self-defined genre, “wild classical”. The five members seem to eat, sleep and breathe music. They’re from the central coast of California and all five come from wildly different backgrounds, but together they’ve found kindred musical spirits in one another. Having performed around the world and been on the stages of several world-class music festivals, Café Musique has made thousands of fans of their powerful, emotive and beautiful sound. They have shared the stage with Doc Severinsen, David Grisman Quintet and Los Lobos and performed and recorded with Grammy award winner Louis Ortega, musical madman Joe Craven, songwriter Jill Knight and Broadway vocalist Sarah Kleeman.

Brynn Albanese: (violin and vocals) is a graduate of Peabody Conservatory of Music, and has performed with Boston Symphony and Pops, as Concertmaster of the Boston Philharmonic and SLO Opera and Symphony of the Vines, with the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra and The Hague Philharmonic in The Netherlands, and can be heard on the soundtracks for  Schindler’s List, Saving Private Ryan and Jurassic Park.  Brynn is the author of ‘Violin Practice Technique Boot Camp’ endorsed by American String Teachers Association; gluten-free but not fun free.

Duane Inglish (accordion) studied under master accordionists Frank Umbro and Ray Gibson.  He is past director of the Live Oak Music Festival in Santa Barbara.  Craig Nuttycombe (guitar and vocals) is a songwriter and wordsmith who graduated from Hollywood High School, and has toured with Jimi Hendrix and Canned Heat.  Fred Murray (bass and vocals) joined his first band at age 14 and has played nearly every kind of music from Austin to Santa Barbara.   Eric Williams (guitar, ukulele, bouzouki and vocals) is a multi-instrumentalist playing instruments ranging from guitar in all styles, bass, banjo, ukulele to the gorgeous warm sounds of the bouzouki. Eric has been a recording artist and album producer on more than one-hundred albums. He has performed and toured with the likes of Tori Amos, Taj Mahal, Tracy Ullman and Russian Balalaika Orchestras.

Brogden Bay Presents organizes live music performances in southern California by some of the country’s finest musicians, typically in an intimate format of 200 people or less.  These concerts are part of a working relationship with Four Friends Gallery founded by Larry Janss.  The seed for Brogden Bay Presents was planted when Steve Brogden was director of Thousand Oaks Library where, for eight years, the Library and the Thousand Oaks Library Foundation hosted monthly concerts.  Other recent concerts include An evening with Jim Kweskin and Geoff Muldaur, A.J. Croce, Albert Lee and Danny Kortchmar.  Limited seating is available in this intimate setting.  Tickets are $25 in advance and $30 at the door and are available at
