THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. – Hillcrest Center for the Arts announces a new series of eight classical concerts in the “Hall of Mirrors”, Sunday Afternoons at the Hillcrest Center for the Arts, 403 W. Hillcrest Dr, across from The Oaks Mall.  Internationally renowned classical artists and well-known local chamber groups and musicians will perform in this acoustically-perfect and intimate venue, featuring classical music the way it was first performed for the Royal Families in Europe.  Sunday, January 19 will feature pianist Ilya Friedberg.

Pianist of the Bloomington Trio, Ilya Friedberg has been described as an “Artist who puts his listener to a musical magic” by pianist Menahem Pressler. Ilya is a passionate chamber musician and is a sought-after collaborator among the members of Los Angeles Philharmonic and Chicago Symphony among others.

This concert is the fourth of a concert series of eight that will feature classical music at the Hillcrest Center for the Arts. The goal of the series is to provide world-class chamber groups and soloists to local audiences in an intimate setting.  All concerts feature reserved seating with tickets that are affordably priced and reduced tickets for students and seniors.   Series Artistic Director Gulia Gurevich is a violinist and a violist of the Prima Trio, a mixed ensemble which had won a Grand Prix at the Fischoff Chamber Music Competition. She resides in Southern California with her husband and two young daughters. Gulia is also the owner and director of a music school, runs a festival in France, and a classical music series in the Los Angeles area.  “I am thrilled to be able to bring world class, award winning musicians to Thousand Oaks,” says Gurevich.  “The facilities here at the Hillcrest Center for the Arts are beautiful.”

Reserved single seats are $20.00 for Keyboard/Premium and Wheelchair Keyboard/Premium tickets.  Reserved tickets in the regular section are $17.00.  Value seating section tickets are $15.00.  A “pick four series” is still available.  The best seats are in the Keyboard/Premium section allowing for the closest view of the artists’ fingers on the keyboard of the Steinway Grand Piano.    Tickets may be purchased at the Hillcrest Center for the Arts Box Office or by calling (805) 381-1246 or www.hillcrestarts.com.
