SANTA PAULA, CA – It’s time to get crafty once again during the Santa Paula Art Museum’s monthly “Crafty Creations” class for ages 12 and up! On Thursday, October 10, 2019, we’ll use simple designs and a bright palette to create little landscape rocks to brighten up your personal spaces. The class will run from 7:00pm to 9:00pm. With longtime Santa Paula High School art teacher Mariann Romero as your guide, you’ll enjoy the satisfaction and creative expression of crafting with friends, playing with techniques and materials, and leaving with a fun and personal decorative object. All materials will be provided, and all skill levels are welcome.

This monthly opportunity is made possible by our generous teaching artist, Marianne Romero, who is volunteering her time to teach this class. In the spirit of that generosity, participants will only be asked to pay what they can (a donation can be made online or in class). However, to help us manage supplies, registration is required, and online registration is preferred. Please no drop-ins. Students under 16 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Space is limited to 20 students per class on a first come first served basis. You can register for class online at

Born and raised in Santa Paula, teaching artist Mariann Romero has taught art at Santa Paula High School for the past 29 years. Although drawing is her favorite art medium, crafts have been a part of her life since age eight when she took her first arts and crafts class through the recreation department. It was that experience that hooked her on art.

The Santa Paula Art Museum occupies two historic buildings located at 117 N 10th Street and 123 N 10th Street in downtown Santa Paula. Regular museum hours are Wednesday through Saturday from 10:00am to 4:00pm, and Sunday from 12:00pm to 4:00pm. Regular admission is $4.00 for adults, $3.00 for seniors, and free for students and museum members. Contact the Museum by calling (805) 525-5554, or by e-mailing [email protected].
