I am excited to let you know about a wonderful weekend of music coming up here in Moorpark. It will start out on Saturday, May 5th, at 10:00 AM with the 3rd Annual Moorpark Day of Jazz taking place at the Moorpark Presbyterian Church. This great community event will last until 3:00 PM and will feature the jazz ensembles from Mesa Verde Middle School, Chaparral Middle School, Moorpark High School, and Moorpark College. Please scroll to the bottom of this email for a complete schedule for the day. Donations for entry are encouraged. Proceeds from the event will go toward music education in Moorpark.
The following day, May 6th, at 2:00 PM the Moorpark College Wind Ensemble will be featured at the Moorpark College Performing Arts Center. In this final performance of the semester, we will share with you a wonderful program filled with music ranging from the classics to popular film music to modern masterpieces, notably the iconic “Symphony No. 9 in E Minor ‘From the New World’” by Antonin Dvořák.
