Hello Health: Living Well with Diabetes and Pre-Diabetes | St. John’s Regional Medical Center

St. John’s Regional Medical Center is pleased to announce, Hello Health: Living Well with Diabetes and Pre-Diabetes, a self-management program tailored to provide education, health checks and resources for those living with this condition. This free three-month program, offered in English and Spanish, is designed to provide individuals living with diabetes and pre-diabetes the tools to better manage the illness. The program begins on Saturday, February 10, from 8:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. in the SJRMC Conference Center (1600 N. Rose Ave. in Oxnard). Participants will receive in-depth detail about the program sessions and corresponding dates during the first session.

Enrollment in the Hello Health: Living Well with Diabetes will offer 2 free A1C and cholesterol blood test at the beginning and end of the program. The following topics will be covered on the first six Saturdays of the program:

  • Diabetes basics
  • Self-testing blood sugar
  • Meal planning
  • Stress management
  • Weight management
  • Increasing physical activity
  • Preventing complications
  • Improving relationship with health care team
