How to rebuild American Manufacturing to create Jobs and Prosperity.

A reminder to join us at our Jan 2017 PDM, on Wednesday the 11th, with a presentation by Michele Nash-Hoff.

Please note this is a variation from our typical meeting on Tuesdays.

Synopsis:

For over sixty years, American manufacturing dominated globe. High-paying manufacturing jobs spurred a robust and growing economy, and we had little dependence on foreign nations for manufactured goods. American manufacturing became synonymous with quality and ingenuity.

From 2000 to 2011, the U. S. lost 5.8 million manufacturing jobs and 57,000 manufacturing firms closed. Offshoring was a major cause of the Great Recession, the slow economic growth thereafter, U.S and state budget deficits, continued high unemployment, the shrinking middle-class, and declining innovation.

About the Speaker:

Michele Nash-Hoff, is president of ElectroFab Sales, a manufacturers rep agency, and author of Can American Manufacturing Be Saved-Why We Should and How We Can. She is Past President of the San Diego Chapter of the Electronics Representatives Association and the High Technology Foundation. She is currently a director on the national board of the American Jobs Alliance, the board of the San Diego Inventors Forum, and Chair of the California chapter of the Coalition for a Prosperous America.

She has a Certificte in total Quality Management and a Yellow Belt in Lean Six Sigma.She is a columnist for Industry Week magazine’s blog and is also an authorized speaker on behalf of the Reshoring Initiative.
