There’s something fascinating about modern art. Although we often struggle to understand what it’s all about, many of us can’t help feeling the urge to attempt to comprehend the highly unique, hard-hitting, and/or arresting images.

Port Hueneme’s own Ethel Todd has agreed to help us understand and appreciate modern artists.  Not only has she earned a Master’s degree in Fine Arts but she has also studied art at the Layton Art School in Wisconsin, California Lutheran University, California State University at Northridge, and Los Angeles Pierce College.

In addition, Ethel is an experienced art instructor.  She has taught courses in art history at Los Angeles Pearce College and Los Angeles Mission College as well as led art travel study programs in Europe, North Africa, and Japan.

Finally, Ethel, whose art has been exhibited in numerous private shows, is a professional skilled in acrylic and shaped painting as well as composition abstract and realism.

Ethel, who holds a Special Education credential, also volunteers with the disadvantaged and the handicapped.
