    League to Sponsor Forum on the Oxnard Recall Special Election 3-28-18

    VENTURA, CALIFORNIA, League of Women Voters of Ventura County (LWVVC), a nonpartisan political organization, is presenting a forum on the Oxnard Recall Special Election.

    This forum is free and open to the public and will be held on Wednesday, March 28 from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm at Pacifica High School Auditorium, 600 East Gonzales Road Oxnard, CA 93036.  The forum will also be live-streamed at KADYTV.net. It will be presented in 5 segments:

    Segment 1:  League introduction to recall elections

    Segment 2:  Proponents of the Oxnard recall

    Segment 3:  The four incumbents up for recall: Mayor Tim Flynn, Councilmember Bert Perello, Councilmember Carmen Ramirez, Councilmember Oscar Madrigal

    Segment 4:   The five candidates running for Mayor (upon recall of Tim Flynn):

    Miguel Lopez

    Modesto (Morey) Navarro

    Aaron Starr

    Lawrence Stein

    Robert Lee Sumpter

    Segment 5:  The nine candidates running for City Council:

    (upon recall of Oscar Madrigal)

    Daniel Chavez Jr.

    Angel Garcia

    Miguel Martinez

    Enrique Petris

    John Ragan

    (upon recall of Carmen Ramirez)

    Ambrosio Casanova

    Francine Castanon

    Questions prepared by the League of Women Voters will be posed to the candidates by moderator and League member, David Maron.  Videotaping is not permitted to ensure fairness toeach candidate.

    The LWVVC hosts forums in order to assist the public in learning more about elections, voting processes, and individual candidates running for office. LWVVC never endorses candidatesand always conducts its forums in a manner designed to be fair and equitable to all who participate. All candidates are invited to attend.
