The County of Ventura Planning Division is currently drafting amendments to the Local Coastal Program (LCP) whose components include the Coastal Area Plan and Coastal Zoning Ordinance. Proposed changes to the LCP have been processed in phases, with Phase 1, 2A, and 2B now complete. We are now processing the final amendment package, Phase 2C, which addresses Environmentally Sensitive Habitat Areas (ESHA). In addition, this package contains minor amendments to remove an obsolete zone (Harbor Planned Development) within the Channel Islands Harbor. The documents associated with Phase 2C will be posted on our website for public review on April 30, 2018. The public comment period for these documents begins on April 30 and runs through June 1, 2018 (until 5:00 pm).
In addition to releasing the documents, the Planning Division will host three public workshops for the North, Central, and South Coast portions of the coastal zone the week of May 7 through 11, 2018. More details are available on the LCP Update website for the Planning Division or under the “Save The Date” section below.Â
