Four California Lutheran University alumni who graduated between one and four decades ago will share their success stories at an event that helps students connect with business leaders.

The Mathews Leadership Forum will be held from 5:45 to 9 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 26, in Lundring Events Center on the Thousand Oaks campus. The annual event organized by the Cal Lutheran Community Leaders Association builds relationships between students and employers and provides mentoring opportunities.

Students will be matched with community leaders and university faculty and staff for roundtable discussions on the theme “Finding Your Path to Success.”

After dinner, a panel discussion will feature alumni Danielle R. Everson, a partner at Clark Everson LLP; Thembi Moyo, senior manager of finance at Amgen; and Casey Preston, president of GTK Analytics Inc. Alumnus Russell S. Young, retired chief financial officer of Lyondell Chemical Co., will moderate.

Everson graduated magna cum laude in 2007 with degrees in criminal justice and psychology, then earned a degree from Pepperdine University School of Law. In 2013, the Camarillo resident co-founded Clark Everson in Westlake Village.

The Newbury Park resident, who has a master’s degree in accounting and finance, went on to hold roles of increasing responsibility at different organizations and joined Amgen in 2013.

Preston earned a bachelor’s degree in communication in 2003. He served as a senior account executive and regional sales director for companies until five years ago, when he founded Westlake Village-based Stratosphere Marketing Solutions Inc., a web design and digital marketing agency. In August, it became GTK Analytics.

Young earned a degree in economics in 1971 and went on to earn an MBA from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. He served as controller of ARCO Products Co. before joining Lyondell. During the Washington resident’s tenure, Industry Week named Lyondell one of the World’s 100 Best Managed Companies.

Former Cal Lutheran President Mark Mathews started the forum as a classroom seminar in 1970. Keynote speakers have included Kinkos founder Paul J. Orfalea and the late UCLA basketball coach John Wooden.
