The Ojai Society Screening of The Crash Reel will feature a Q/A session with critically acclaimed documentarian and director, no rx Lucy Walker, patient after the viewing of the film. The film is about snowboarder, abortion Kevin Pearce who suffered an injury while training for the 2010 Olympics, and his comeback story.
Acclaimed documentarian Lucy Walker will speak and answer questions at the Ojai Film Society May 18th screening of her latest film, The Crash Reel, the dramatic comeback story of snowboard champion Kevin Pearce, who suffered a traumatic brain injury while training for the 2010 Olympics. The dynamic filmmaker has been nominated twice for an Academy Award for her groundbreaking documentaries Waste Land (2010) and The Tsunami and the Cherry Blossom (2011). The screening will take place at Ojai Playhouse at 4:30 pm.
RECEPTION AT SPACEMONKEY TO FOLLOW SCREENING: Lucy Walker will also speak at a reception following the film at Spacemonkey, 105 S. Montgomery. Appetizers are to be catered by Osteria Monte Grappa.
