Join Ranger Lei for a night hike at Paramount Ranch as we search for, and learn about, the scorpions that live in the park.
About this event
The Santa Monica Mountains after dark is a completely different world!
Most of the animals we normally see during the day are fast asleep. But as the sun sets, different kinds of animals, like scorpions, are just waking up.
Yes, we know these critters look terrifying, and that their sting can pack a powerful punch! Doesn’t that just make you want to learn more about them, though?
Join Ranger Lei on a hike to explore and possibly find some of these fascinating creatures. UV lights will be provided!
Meet us at Paramount Ranch in Agoura Hills at 8:00 pm on July 16th. We will be hiking until about 9:00 pm.
If you stick around, enter the Paramount Ranch Chapel and come face to face with critters from 9:00pm to 9:30pm.
Be aware that UV lights will be limited, so please sign up!
This is a free event with complimentary parking. We recommend bringing a flashlight, dressing warmly, and wearing sturdy shoes. Meet us at the first bridge at the edge of the parking lot.
