    Strathearn Historical Park & Museum is hosting a Presidents’ Day weekend Civil War Encampment.  On February 15th and 16th, the public is invited on Saturday from 10am to 4pm and on Sunday from 10am to 3pm.
    Visitors are invited to step back in time to a soldier’s camp in 1862 and experience the sights and sounds as re-enactors show the soldiers’ way of life throughout a typical encampment day with Union, Confederate and civilian re-enactors.
    The re-enactors will be actually living the soldiers’ way of life for the entire weekend in a non-battle environment.  Both men and women had roles in this important period in our country’s history.
    Discover how they shot old guns – Hear their stories of food, camp life and adventures – Learn how to sew with a hand-cranked sewing machine – Examine authentic Civil War artifacts – Learn an old-time dance from members of Simi Valley Vintage Dance Society and shop for
    A highly regarded Lincoln impersonator, will be delivering the “Gettysburg Address” both Saturday and Sunday.
    In addition to encampment activities, all buildings within the park will be open for touring, with docents available for historical information.
    Daily admission: $5 over age twelve – $3 ages five to twelve years oldChildren under five are free. Food can be purchased from the Kiwanis ChucKwagon.
