Ever wonder why guests switch partners twice when leaving your house? Stop after entering the grocery store? Have you questioned why no one ever sits in the center of their backyard? Well if you haven’t, then you are not alone. But if you are curious, then join Kern County landscape designer and painter David Gordon as he hosts a gallery talk at the Santa Paula Art Museum entitled “The Psychology of Design in Landscape Architecture.” The talk begins at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 12, 2017. Admission is $4.00 for adults, $3.00 for seniors, and free for students and museum members.

Gordon will describe outdoor spaces like you’ve never heard before. With wit and insight, the artist will take the path less traveled through the thought processes of spaces we take for granted. Good design considers the person on their journey between discovery and surprise. You will never look at a backyard the same again!
